Alison Krauss Coming Homes.png

Alison Krauss: Coming Home traces her journey from a young violin student growing up in Champaign to one of the most acclaimed musicians of her generation. The exhibit explores the local teachers, musicians, schools, venues, and experiences that helped shape her early years, as well as the extraordinary career that followed.

Visitors will see photographs, recordings, personal stories, awards, and artifacts connected to her life and music—including clothing from Alison’s first violin recital, the dress she wore in the music video for “The Lucky One,” and one of her Grammy Awards.

More than a story about a famous musician, this is a story about Champaign County—about the people and places that nurtured exceptional talent and the lasting connection Alison Krauss has maintained with the community where her musical journey began.
